Cars, I love them. Even though I have no idea how to drive or can't even name anything under the hood, I still love cars. They're so pretty to look at.

Can Andy Do it?

Since Rafa Nadal pulled out of the tourney with an injury, I haven't been following Wimbledon at all! I haven't picked a side either but it seems like the Brits have. They are hoping Andy Murray can win it for them at Wimbledon for the first time in a gazillion years. So can he do it? i don't think he can but I've been wrong before. We'll see.

You Say You Want a Revolution...

In case you haven't noticed, there is an up-rise going on in Iran. Thousands have taken to the streets to protest what they consider a clearly rigged election. Many have been killed, injured and arrested without warning.Hopefully the violence seizes and the people of Iran get back control of their country and oust the repressive regime currently in power.

French Open is here!
Out of all the tennis tourneys, the French Open is my favorite! hopefully my faves will win it this year;
Dinara Safina, she was so close last year...hopefully she gets far this year.
Rafa Nadal. I became a fan of Rafa when the French media started making fun of his 'constructor worker arms'. How dare they make fun of an athlete for looking lile an athlete. well, he sure proofed them wrong, with 4 French Open grand slam titles.
good luck guys!
UPDATE: Rafa Nadal, has been shockingly kung-fu kicked out of the French Open by some Swede. So, the men's section is up for grabs. Over at the women's, Ana Ivanovic has been unsurprisingly dumped out by Belorussian teen Victoria Azarenka. Both champs are out!
UPDATE 2: Congrats to Svetlana K and Roger F, winners of the French Open women and men respectively.

Rich people are suckers.

Would you pay, $8,995 USD for this? it's literally a sofa made out of driftwood.Apparently there is someone out there willing to shell out $8,995 for something they can drag back from their morning jogs in the park. I guess i'm not 'fashion-forward' or 'avant garde' enough for my simple mind to grasp this ridiculousness. If you think the sofa looks comfortable, check out the armchair;
Do your ass a favor and buy a real sofa.

Models
They may not be as prominent as they use to be but models are far more interesting(and hotter) than ghastly socialites and dlist celebs. here are some of my faves:
Freja Beha Erichsen
I absolutely adore Freja. she's Danish, has loads of tats and great taste in music.
Iselin Steiro.Hailing from Norway, Iselin is one of the best models in front of a camera. put her in a trash bag and she'll still make it look good. Iselin is now semi-retired. she put modeling aside for school.
Daria Werbowy. This Canadian-Pole-Ukrainian is pure class.
Linda Evangelista.I hear she's a supermodel or something.
Naomi Campbell. When she's not terrorizing civilians, Ms. Campbell is awesome, beautiful, rich, awesome, beautiful and yeah.
Christy Turlington.quite possibly the nicest supermodel. she's smart, beautiful and an activist. kudos to Ms. Turlington.
onto the Russians! in recent years, the Reds have been running the model scene. here are my fave Russian models:
Sasha Pivovarova( good luck pronouncing her last name).
Holy moley, it's Natasha Poly! I just recently got the appeal of Natasha.she's a hardworking professional.
Vlada Roslyakova, She's got a funny(and cute) accent. and also looks like a china doll...or would that be Russian doll?!
And now the Brazilians, another force in the modeling world.
Adriana Lima...because she still claims to be a virgin.
Isabeli Fontana.Reminds me of a young Sophia Loren. she's also a single mom of two.
Caroline Trentini. I don't know why I like Carol but I do.
Now the Americans...
Sessilee Lopez. This beauty from Philly is hitting her stride. With so little successful black models in the biz, i hope Ms, Lopez sticks around. She has a cool first name too.
Tyra Banks. Sure she's gone batshit crazy with power and a HUGE ego but Ms. Banks is still a legend and a damn good model.
Hilary Rhoda. Famed for her caterpillar eyebrows,Rhoda was hailed as the new Brook Shields... well,i think she looks better than Brooke! recently, Hilary sorta disappeared from modeling thanks to a beauty contract or something. come back to High Fashion!
and now the only dude to make an appearance...
Tyson Beckford.Hotness!
Random faves:
Elise Crombez. Elise is an editorial goddess. She also reminds of Shirley Manson.Elise is Belgian.
Lara Stone. it's almost impossible to find a picture of Ms. Stone not topless! I like Lara because she can look like she's gonna kick yer ass and still come off as a sex kitten. She's Dutch.
Liu Wen is gorgeous!I hope she gets far. Liu is straight outta China.
Heidi Mount. I like Heidi because she always looks like she's sleeping while on the runway. Heidi is a mom,a wife and a Chanel girl. Marina Perez. An underrated gem from España, this Spanish beauty has been around for a while.
Anja Rubik.
Kasia Struss. I first noticed Kasia in her Jil Sander ad with mousy Irina K. she has since taken off. Kasia, like Anja, is a Pole.
That's it for now.
DISCLAIMER: i don't own any of these picture and have since forgotten the sources. i stand to make no profit from them so don't bother suing.

Summer Flicks
It's summer blockbuster season again and here are choices for some favorite blockbusters of the past and present.
The Bourne trilogy was one of the best in recent history. Each film got better without losing its touch. My favorite of the three was the Bourne Identity.
great book(s), great film.
The Pirates of the Caribbean series was awesome mainly because of the wonderful johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush. sadly, the last two films weren't great as the first.
i don't know if Collateral is considered a blockbuster hit but it did come out during summer and it is the only Tom Cruise film that I loved.
X-Men(wolverine included) series.I'm not much for comic books but i do love them when they're turned into to good films.
Spider-man one and two were great. the third one was a travesty! hopefully that is the end.
The Dark Night had the best casting( except Maggie) in recent blockbuster film history.it was much more complex and brilliant than your run of the mill summer flicks. this was a great film, even though i didn't see the first one.
Finding Nemo was incredible! i absolutely loved all the characters and even considered adopting some amphibian friends(but later decided against it). a film for all ages.
Tropic Thunder. Robert Downey Jr and Brandon T. Jackson totally ran with this movie.
that's all i can think of for now.

Albums
A departure from their usual sound, Midnight Boom is IMHO The Kills best album yet. Highlights:M.E.X.C.O, Last Day of Magic, Sour Cherry, Cheap and Cheerful, Hook and Line, Night Train and U.R.A. Fever.
When a hardcore YYY fan listens to this album one thing always comes to mind; what happened to the guitars? ! YYY have gone pop with this record and it ain’t really bad, it’s in fact great! a solid album worth every penny. Highlights: Dull Life,Heads Will Roll,Soft Shock,Runaway and Zero.
The Duke Spirit are terribly underrated band. Ever since I heard Love is Unfamiliar Name of their debut Cuts Across the Land I absolutely adored them. Neptune is slightly more polished and put together than their first effort.A great album worth checking out. Highlights: You Really Wake Up The Love In Me,The Step and The Walk,Into The Fold,Neptune’s Call and Lassoo.
Show Your Bones by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Show Your Bones is less chaotic than Fever to Tell but that’s what so special about it. The band are much more mature with this one. Highlights:Fancy,Phenomena,Déjà Vu, Gold Lion,Dudley and Cheated Hearts.
the album that launched a thousand copycats (Coldplay,Muse,Keane,Snow Patrol and many more), OK Computer is Radiohead’s magnus opus. it’s impossible not to like this record.Highlights: Climbing Up the Walls, Karma Police,Exist Music(for a film) and Paranoid Android.
The Shape of Punk to Come by Refused
This ain’t your daddy’s punk rock, this is Refused. I can’t even call this a Punk record because the band actually knows how to play their instruments! Refused simply can’t be pigeonholed and they proof it with their 1998 classic. unfortunately, the punk that followed the release of this album was nowhere near as good as the Swedish lads last effort. Highlights: Liberation Frequency,Protest Song ‘68, Refused Are Fucking Dead,Tannhäuser / Derivè, Summerholidays Vs. Punkroutine and New Noise.
The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill by Lauryn Hill
When the Fugees went kaput! Lauryn Hill emerged out of the ashes as the most talented of the trio (sorry boys but it’s the truth) and with her debut she showcased her true artistic prowess. Highlights: the whole damn thing!
that’s it for now, 'til next time.
GO BUY THESE RECORDS !!!
